The railway line, between Dol and Dinan in France, was renovated last year using TC Geolon® PET. The soil reinforcement improves stability, allows trains to run at a higher speed and increases passenger capacities.

Renovation using TenCate Geolon® PET

TenCate Geolon® PET 1000 was used for the renovation of an existing railway line in Brittany in 2020. Prior to this, trains had to pass this section between the cities of Dol and Dinan, with a length of 30 kilometers, at reduced speed in order to guarantee a safe ride.

The customized railway renewal with TenCate Geolon® PET 1000 reinforced the soil beneath the railway tracks, so that the trains are now able to drive faster and the capacity on the railway line was significantly increased.
